oh the little things that mean so much

we went shopping to Mei's first American mall today to go baby shopping. She is enjoying shopping more now than she did in China since public places don't freak her out anymore. we were in the girls section and liv found a super soft sweat shirt since they do need some I had liv try it on. It fit great and was on sale so I asked Mei "which color would you like? pink, blue or brown" her head flipped up at me with those brown eyes in disbelief, pink she said.I unzipped it and she took it hugged and kissed it and with giddy excitement she tried it on. so we took the hangers to the check out once we paid I told the girls they could wear them now again hopping with glee she hugged and kissed it over and over. Oh to have that much excitement for the simple. 2 girls same sweat shirt such different reactions one who knows she will never go without well anything and the other one who is not sure about anything. She went on to sleep with the sweat shirt and it is still there is her bed. To be that pure...

Tammy - I read this to my NHS students at our meeting tonight, and these were their comments, "We need more people in the world like that." "That is REALLY well-written, right there is my college application essay." "That is so awesome!" I totally agree!
