Just one more stop to make...

our appointment with Disney! I can't even tell you how wonderful it was to get to that (Disney) hotel it was like a whole body sigh of relief. not only were we out of China but we were on Disney property which is almost like home to me. we were so excited we dropped our bags and went for a full tour of everything. getting to bed a little late but enough sleep for what lies ahead.
as you exit the bus this was the first site we saw we didn't even care about the rain we were here

It is true to say that on more than one occasion I have cried entering Disney's gates, this was one of those times.
Mei's first step on main street she was really excited

as is our family tradition buzz was our first ride so joining Liv and gray buzz was Meis first ride.

these are our new good friends, Rose, Ella and marianne. we were so glad that we talked them in to it. saying goodbye to everyone the night before was sad it was nice to have another day of fun with them. all new at Disney and you know how we love taking rookies around. FYI I think we have hooked them on Disney. Before we parted Rose told us to be sure and call us when you go to Disney next to see if we can come!

this was weird to have a Disney restaurant that you eat with chop sticks. ever seen sushi shaped like mickey?

at this park there is ice cream when you exit small world.another FYI everything was in English the songs, shows, and parades. If you are extra hungry you can get ice cream served on a pancake here at small world ice cream. we thought something got lost in translation but nope it sure was 3 scoops of ice cream served on top of a pancake, hum?
this was the 3d movie, same as we have at home the girls were freaked out by it ducking and reaching for things. Ella had to much and had to leave early. mei thought it was funny.
this is my favorite picture from the day. every where you go in China rain or shine you see umbrellas they are like little polka dots decorating your view. this castle was amazingly small to us, it was 16 steps deep they are really good at that forced perspective thing.
here we are waiting for what I assume is the girls first parade. it was a blast, every float had water spaying from it. every viewer got wet I hope they bring this to DW.
so I told you B's hair got a lot of attention it is true even the characters noticed. Jiminy cricket pretended to give him a hair cut and Pinocchio stood there and messed it all up playing with it (hope it was a girl in there)
after the parade no one was dry but it was a welcome break from the heat.

one nice thing about having a park that is only 4 years old is everything is new and improved. These are there water fountains so clever
even the bathroom is fun. when I showed Mei what these do she went to everyone to try it out.
just an observation. as we were waiting in line for The golden mickeys show (one we don't have) I turned and saw this a crowd of only black hair it was really weird. The people behind us must have said all that different colored hair among the black it is so weird.
as the firework show begins they welcome you to main street USA. I guess it is a fantasy world. It did make me feel at home even on a trash can.
as usual we stayed until it closed, only 8pm and we opted for the walk back instead of the bus. since the bus ride took us about 6 minutes we figured it couldn't be far and we had seen how they jam people in to buses, no thanks

much better than having others invade my personal space

If you know me you know I hate bugs, snakes, rodents... so you can imagine my surprise when they side walk back had snails everywhere. you know how after a big rain you find worms all over your sidewalk that how these were all sizes and you had to watch and zig zag through the snails

we got back with half an hour to swim so we did. what a surprise when we turned the corner to see goofy just getting out of the pool. he patted her head as he passed and waved good bye dripping wet. ha.

first water slide
pool tharepy working again she even held his hand to walk up to the slide. out at 10 shower, pack try and sleep for what comes next... home!

It does look like home... what a great feeling, and a little taste of what's to come for Mei. Good thing she liked Disney, since she will be spending a lot of time there.

I'm so glad that you were able to go to Hong Kong Disney. That is so perfect for you guys. In some of those pictures it looks like you are the only people in the park. Also, I didn't know that those characters could go swimming. That is so crazy that Goofy was coming out of the pool. And Mei looked like she loved all of it. Hooray!
